Who is he? Can’t say I’ve heard of him.😮

7 years old and he absorbed what that song was about - It is wonderful he had a chance to sing this song, it is an astonishing piece few people really know about because here in the states, anti-war songs are few and far between - they simply don't make money and that is what we are all about here: money. He made his opposition so beatifully clear - a position much of America agreed with - and, in the end, he was proven right as many were about the so-called "weapons of mass destruction" and other lies we were told to justify the Iraq war. He was so close to his mum, worried how worried she would have been ❤

Such a shame that 4 years later, these hosts still had to bring up the entrapment arrest - must have been so frustrating for GM even as he was gracious enough about dealing with it; We are stupid as humans to make such a big deal out of something so personal and non-consequential. Sadly, he had two rods put into his back and a lifetime of pain after that surgery only to learn later that the surgery had not been necessary - which is so heartbreaking. I really do love hearing him laugh - we didn't hear it much when he did interviews. He completely took Graham by surprise when he said that about the "lovely park" - so funny. Loving his sarcasm while still remaining in good humor - He was a such a fascinating complex person - we could use his thoughtfulness now again...so missed ❤

He's so wonderfully direct and thoughtful, and articulate. I think this is something that drives the tabloid (murdoch) media, which are a bunch of pervy ghouls .So many people don't k now that his close friends and family knew he was gay for a long time, he just didn't give the media what they wanted: an announcement about his sexuality which is about his privacy. Makes me so angry people are still be treated so horribly because of their sexuality or whoever they are. Humans have this horrid need to label people, to make some people a target for hate. He and his lovers did go out and about, holding hands long before his arrest in L.A. The press just wanted their pound of flesh off this decent man because he was so successful so young - they hounded him to the end.

Sadly, he is so right about the homophobia here in the states - I am with him on his "fuck off" - We are getting worse on these issues here right now. Hate is a big seller for the trump supporters - hate and fear and their homophobia is frightening because there is a tinge of a threat of violence in their language about it. I am so glad GM didn't live here - at least in the UK even with the awful murdoch media machine hounding him, the population was not like much of ours. ❤

If the music business understood the music business anywhere near as well as George Michael did (and did from the time of his early 20s) - they'd be an even bigger business than they already are and a far lot more interesting. He just seemed so insightful into not just this business but so many other life/world issues. We need people like him, we people to be critical thinkers again instead of swallowing whatever they are told or believing every idiotic thing they see on social media, etc.

I will never understand why he always talked about being 40 or in his 40s as if it was very old. It was obviously his personal perspective but I always felt a little sad about it and especially as he died at 53, such a young age in these days. So much about him brings so much joy but also so much sadness - he was complex, sensitive, intuitive to a fault and withstood so much media harassment - I do miss this man, almost as if I knew him. Luckily he did do more concerts with 25 Live (2006 through 2008) and then, the Symphonica tour.

George made me take an interest in politics. This beautiful man was wise beyond his years, will always love + miss you❤

He was so right about the music industry - with all streaming now for music, free and otherwise, it has so dramatically changed how music is produced, marketed, etc - Musicians are experiencing an entirely differently run industry than what GM and others did during his time. His self-awareness is incredibly acute and that is truly both a blessing and a curse. I wish we had his beautiful music and his beautiful thoughtful mind still with us....I have to also say I adored him for his outspoken opposition to the Iraq invasion (as an American I was mortified about how our media reacted to his tune "Shoot the Dog" and his comments about Blair and Bush and the non-existent weapons of mass destruction. We destroyed his career here - not the fans, the press did and his record company wouldn't play the song. He had so much support here for all that but he never knew....

Interviewers like this (sorry to say, old white males who believe they are special and entitled simply because they are old white males) seemed to believe they were going to "get" George Michael in some way which, of course, then they were shocked to find how much GM understood, how much he knew, how articulate and passionate he was and that he himself was not the lapdog that Blair showed himself to be. The fact Sebastian opened by asking if GM wrote the song and against the war in Iraq because it was "fashionable" is the first shot out of the gate to try to immediately paint GM as frivolous - it was intentional. It is so satisfying when these guys get confronted with the reality of who GM truly was. The interviewer here came off as a would be bully and someone else other than GM might have taken the bait.

How can one listen to this and not just sob. He spoke in later interviews about how his speaking out as he did here (and elsewhere) about wanting Blair to not go into Iraq did impact his career at the time - in a negative way. Such a shame that someone wanting peace would have their career negatively affected by doing so. He was such a humanitarian, in the true sense - not just donating money to causes but being articulate and thoughtful and speaking out - So admirable and appreciated even as certain career opportunities vanished when he did make his thoughts on Iraq known. And - not surprisingly - he was correct (as many of us were here in the states as well).

I'm a mother of a grown son, he's GM's age range now and I'm telling you dead and alive as I comment I'd be 💯 worried for his welfare on land or in the air because people & politicians can or could've been violently cruel to him. He was very brave to become quite political, not long after coming out in America, and I really hope his autopsy into his death was natural causes. Prayerfully, not a cover-up of something more sinister drawn from his outspoken attitude, which I've admired, laughed at in 2 months, and I enjoyed most of GM's interviews.

I'm happy George changed his mind and gifted us with TV plus Smphonica before he left us for good in 2016😇💜💚
